Don’t worry; you’re on your way to seeing how it’s done! We hope you enjoy this step-by-step tutorial on how to draw a lollipop in 6 steps!
How to Draw A Lollipop
In this first step of our tutorial on how to draw a lollipop, we’ll start with the pattern for the lollipop! As already mentioned, this lollipop will have a curved shape.
First, we’ll start with a circular shape for the lollipop outline. This won’t be a perfect circle; the line will move inward at the bottom of the lollipop outline.
This part that goes into the lollipop will curve at the end and form the beginning of the swirl shape for the lollipop in later steps.
This may all sound a bit complicated, but it’s easier than it sounds! Just follow the reference image to avoid getting lost while drawing.
Without a stick to hold on to, a lollipop would be pretty sticky and inedible, so let’s draw one in this lollipop drawing step.
This should be an easy step; you’ll find it easier if you use a ruler as a guide.
Simply draw two straight lines close together from the body of the lollipop. The stick comes out near where the line moved in on the first pass on the lollipop.
To finish, you can connect these lines with a short flat line at the bottom. That’s all, so let’s move on to step 3!
We started drawing the lollipop swirl in the first step of this tutorial on how to draw a lollipop, and we will build on that in this step.
You’ll see the purpose of the line you’re now drawing in the outline of the lollipop as you continue with this line for the swirl.
Draw an inward curved line in the lollipop, starting with that line meeting the lollipop.
Then follow the look of the curved line in our reference image to draw this swirling line.
We will continue the swirl pattern in this part of your lollipop design. Keep the line you started in the previous step as it twists further into the lollipop.
At the end of this step, there will be a small gap left in the middle of this pattern, but we’ll fill that in in the next step, along with some final decorative details.
As mentioned in the previous step of this tutorial on how to draw a lollipop, we will finish the swirl pattern and add some final details in this part.
Start by extending the sinuous swirl line further into the center of the lollipop. Once that sinuous line is complete, it’s time to decorate your lollipop!
This is one area where you could opt for a different design than ours if you prefer, but we’re going to add some small curved lines through the various swirls of the lollipop pattern.
This way, you create more sections inside the lollipop and have so many options to add great colors later!
Once you’re done with the final details of this lollipop, you can move on to the final step. Before you do that, feel free to add some of your details as well!
This can include fun details like a bite mark in the lollipop, or you could draw a background showing what other candy you’d like to have with that lollipop. Just don’t tell your dentist!
Now comes the part of this guide that might be the funniest of them all! You can achieve some amazing colors in this part of your lollipop design.
We showed you one way to colorize this image in our reference image, but this is just a suggestion.
This is a great opportunity to use all your favorite bright and beautiful colors to top it off!
Once you’ve chosen our theme, there are many color sections available for you to create a colorful gold mine.
We can’t wait to see what amazing colors, patterns, and artistic mediums you will choose to complete your wonderful and tasteful design.
